Nikki Reimer is a Calgary-based freelance writer and editor, creative writer, designer, artist and creative problem solver who is available for freelance editing, writing and/or design assignments, speaking engagements and manuscript consultation.

Nikki holds a BA Hons. from the University of Calgary, has completed numerous writing and editing courses through Simon Fraser University’s Writing & Publishing Program and has recently completed a dual certificate in Publishing and Web Design from Mount Royal University. In February 2013, Nikki participated in the In(ter)ventions Residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts, under the mentorship of Steven Ross Smith, Fred Wah, Joe Amato and JR Carpenter.

Nikki’s first book of poetry [sic(Frontenac House, 2010) was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. She is the former managing editor of EVENT Magazine and a contributing editor to Poetry is Dead.

Nikki returned to Calgary in June 2012 after having lived in Vancouver for the past eight years.She lives with her husband, writer/academic/musician Jonathon Wilcke, and their cats Bella and Amy.

She is the fiercely proud sister of late Calgary musician Chris Reimer, who passed away in February 2012. Nikki built a memorial site for her brother, and along with a close group of family and friends, founded the Chris Reimer Legacy Fund, a scholarship funding program for youth in music and dance.
